I haven't really been on deviantart for a long time. I see my last journal entry is on Kiev. Well, after that visit, I've been there another 4 times, but, that's not current. Right now my main destination is China. The world there is even different, but the people are great. On my second to last visit I've been to the area around Guilin. That's a no brain tip for everybody. The landscape there is nothing short of amazing. I've placed two of the photographs I've taken with my average consumer grade ixus 800 IS. (Lost my ixus 55 last new year in Kiev...) They turned out pretty well in my eyes, so, you know your next travel destination 
Devious Journal Entry
In Kiev for work for the second time in 2 months. What a different world compared to western Europe I'm from. People are great here though. And there is a lot of talent walking around. Well, you can actually see this on deviantart. For a person like me that doesn't know more than 50 words in Russian, every day is an adventure, but I love it. So, my regards to Kiev, Kharkiv and the rest of the Ukraine.
Tignes
Well, like you might have guessed. I didn't make it to the final round of the google codejam 2005. Maybe next year. I did just get back from a great skiing holiday in Tignes (France). I just added two panoramic images on a desktop size of 1280x960. (Which happens to be the size of my desktop ;-) )

I made the qualification of the google codejam 2005. More competitors where in then ever I believe. 4696 to be exact. With 500 advancers this was the toughest google codejam qualification up to date.
This is not really the place to post things like this, but I thought I'd post something and I like the thought behind the google codejam.
